Survivors accessing support services is a part of the healing and recovery process.

Timely medical services contribute to the prevention and management of sexually transmitted infections, injuries, as well as other immediate, short-and-long-term health complications that may arise as a result of the incident.

Reporting the incident to law enforcement agencies can lead to the arrest of perpetrators and the process of seeking legal redress against the abusers.

You can support survivors by linking them up to health facilities, law enforcement agencies such as the Nigeria Police Force, as well as organisations and institutions that support survivors of gender-based violence.

Nigeria also has sexual assault referral centres (SARCs) across the States and FCT that provide services to survivors for free. You can find these SARCs on Her Story Our Story Nigeria on Instagram.
