Supporting Survivors of Violence (4)

One of the drivers of violence against women and girls is the culture of silence in our communities. When survivors talk about their experiences, people directly/indirectly involved try to keep it under wraps and “solve” the issue as quietly and quickly as possible to avoid tarnishing the reputation of the perpetrators. The ripple effect is a generation of abusers who walk free with no shame.

We must begin to break the culture of silence by calling out rapists, paedophiles, and other perpetrators of violence against women and girls!

Say their names and shame them for their actions!

For survivors who seek legal redress, hold law enforcement agencies accountable by calling them out as well and putting the spotlight on their actions, or inactions as the case may be.

We can no longer be silent about violence against women and girls.
